10th TI Developer Conference (TIDC) opens in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: The 10th Texas Instruments Developer Conference (TIDC) rolled off at Leela Palace, Bangalore today, with demonstrations of a wheelchair operated by neuro signal processing using TI’s MSP430 microcontroller and intelligent sensors that use TI’s Da Vinci technology to reduce energy consumption in offices.

The conference is showcasing the unique applications of TI’s breakthrough analog and signal processing technologies.

Welcome delegates, Dr Biswadeep (Bobby) Mitra, Managing Director, Texas Instruments India, said: “TIDC is our flagship event that showcases state-of-the-art technologies and solutions that will help improve the quality of life and make technology more affordable. TIDC India 2007 is one of the largest semiconductor ecosystem events in the Asia-Pacific region, both in terms of the number of participants and representation across the semiconductor ecosystem from developers to partners to academia.

Technologies that can help reduce costs of high-definition (HD) video and drive adoption across sectors such as surveillance IP cameras, HD television (HDTV) and medical imaging are being showcased at the event. Some interesting sessions at TIDC India 2007 include:

* Satellite communication methods for a Tsunami early warning system using digital signal processors.

* Portable medical electronics design simplified by embedded high-performance analog.

Technology leaders from TI and from TI's network of customers, partners and universities will be addressing the conference on innovation and developments in multiple application domains.

Over 25 of TI's top hardware, software, component, service, design and manufacturing partners are exhibiting their solutions. Multiple exhibition areas have been set up for visitors to view the diverse range of TI silicon-based IP, products and services these partners offer.

The exhibition areas will be open until November 30, in addition to which there will be dedicated breaks for all delegates to visit the exhibition floor.
