According to a recent industry report an average of 39 per cent of all mobile calls fall below the industry minimum standard for voice quality. Given that roamers represent a profitable customer segment, the implications of poor quality of service include lost roaming revenues and potential churn. To address these challenges, Roamware Inc., a global leader in mobile roaming software and solutions, introduces Roaming Quality Tester TM (RQT) enabling operators to get a real-time view of the network and service performance.

A press release from the company stated that Roamware RQT measures performance experienced by inbound and outbound roamers, including call and data failures, service adoption trends, Quality of Service (QoS), and inter-carrier validation of value-added services. Predictive intelligence provided by the solution allows timely intervention by the operator to ensure that service quality remains high and helps improve and manage user experience on an ongoing basis. Roaming Quality Tester is being currently deployed in over a dozen networks across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

“Roaming Quality Tester provides a 24x7, 360 degree audit and revenue assurance tool for operators to ensure customer satisfaction in the roaming environment,” said Dr. John Jiang, CTO and EVP Product Management at Roamware. “Adoption of roaming testing and quality of service tools among operators is at an early stage and less than 20% of the operators today use comprehensive tools for to manage roaming quality of service and most quality initiatives today are targeted at the local user in the home network.”

The  solution tracks all the services including voice, SMS, GPRS, Value Added Services and all other elements associated with roaming traffic including registration status tracking, roamer trend tracking, CAMEL monitoring, fraud detection, interconnect Quality of Service tracking, protocol analysis, SMS tracking and accounting, traffic load analysis and call failure diagnosis. The solution allows unlimited testing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year across all roaming partners enabling complete control on roamer experience. The solution is switch and roaming partner independent and simulates user experience on real time basis without generating CDR’s and associated financial liability. RQT can be deployed centrally for operator groups enabling mobile operators to standardize roaming quality of services with a single installation across affiliates.
